BTS AND THE TULLA SYDNEY ALLIANCE, PARTNERS IN SAFETY

Part of Australia’s largest project development and contracting group Leighton Holdings Limited, Thiess employs 16,000 people across 178 projects. Together with infrastructure design consultants, and the government transport authority VicRoads, Thiess have formed an alliance to construct a significant infrastructure project in the state of Victoria, consisting of approximately 10kms of freeway, including on/off ramps and a number of bridges. The AUD$600m project is expected to take 27 months to complete and will employ approximately 200 staff on the job, plus as many as 1500 people in the field over the life of the project. Proud of their already good safety performance, Thiess have resolved to reach new levels of safety excellence on the Alliance Project, and to leave a legacy of Victorian workers better equipped to be leaders in building safe working cultures.

Acutely aware that culture and leadership are critical determinants in safety performance, Thiess engaged BTS Australasia to develop a highly customised program for all of the Alliance Project, to help them lift their safety performance to the next level.
