Participant Experience
Business Simulation·
During the 3 year tenure (3 decision rounds) as a member of the company’s senior management team, participants employed a customised, computer-based business simulation to assist in making high-level business decisions.
- The simulation was built to reflect the challenges and opportunities faced by the Energy industry in creating sustainable value.
Know-How Sessions
- EA senior leaders participated in interactive discussion sessions, called ‘Know Hows’after each round of the business simulation.
- These sessions provided the bridge between the simulation, business theory & practical application to the EnergyAustralia business.
- Content covered included the ‘leadership journey’, ‘new regulatory environment’ and ‘business performance drivers’,
Feedback Sessions
- Following each Know-How Session, the participants received an analysis of theirmanagement team’s performance, as well as those of competitors, in feedback sessions
- The goal of these sessions were to link business decisions to commercial, financial and regulatory outcomes and create ideas for applying the simulation experience back into the workplace
Application Session
- On completion of the 3 year simulation, participants were asked to develop a personalaction plan, which incorporated their learning's from the simulated experience.
- This action plan contained commitments to improvements to implement within their business upon their return to the workplace.
